Plan X For The Ukraine: A Game Changer

Written on March 4-5, 2014

Now that the Russian President Vladimir Putin has gotten his way in the Crimea and the Ukraine, thanks in no small measure to the bumbling bureaucrats in Brussels, and the naïve amateurs in America. What to do?

There is a game changing action Mr. Obama and the United States could set in motion that, in my view, would have a profound impact on American security and foreign policy, and global stability. Its impact will be felt worldwide.

Operation Game Changer is proprietary. It is a bold plan of action. So I would hold out little hope that the Obama Administration would give it a green light.

As for other options, there is nothing this administration and its allies have but excuses. American military action in the Ukraine, with Mr. Obama as Commander in Chief, is off the table. We’re spread to thin. NATO intervention requiring support of European capitals – never happen. Besides, Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so no Charter obligation. Economic sanctions sure, but the other side can play that game too. In fact, the crisis has increased energy prices that will compensate Russia in lost revenue from other sources. Other sanctions such as visas, suspending multi-lateral talks, cancelling meeting participation, and White House non-participation in the Sochi Paralympics Games, are all under consideration.

This explains a lot as to why American and European foreign policy has been so risible and pathetic. The Russians, Chinese, Israelis, Egyptians, and others, understand that the world is a dangerous place, even deadly, not classroom exercises. Lives are at stake, and the possibility of a catastrophic event is not science fiction. History for these people is long and incredibly serious, and not correlated to today’s bankrupt sensibilities and cultural deprivation.

If you follow the dialogue between Messrs. Putin and Sergey Lavrov on the one side, and Messrs. Obama and Kerry on the other, you would think you went through time and found yourself in March 1999. But, it would be confusing. Then it was Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright, playing the parts of Putin and Lavrov defending NATO’s duty to go to war in Kosovo, and Boris Yel’tsin and Igor Ivanov searching for a peaceful solution. It’s true, where you sit is where you stand.

Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright lied about the “atrocities” being committed in Kosovo leading up to the war in March 1999. What was going on in Kosovo in 1999 was a military campaigned waged by the Kosovo Liberation Army (“KLA”), to separate Kosovo from Serbia, and eventually creating a greater Albania, made up of Albania, Kosovo, northern Macedonia, and the Preševo Valley in Serbia. The so-called humanitarian disaster in Kosovo was orchestrated by the KLA, not Serbia. Mr. Clinton’s statement to the nation, read: “We act to protect thousands of innocent people,” while Madeleine Albright chirped endlessly about atrocities being committed by the Serbs. It was all lies. The real perpetrator was the KLA, Mr. Clinton’s and Madame Albright’s “freedom fighters.”

Moreover, the KLA took advantage of the Holbrooke Agreement (Rambouillet) in October 1998, in which Serbia removed their forces from Kosovo, to conduct their bloody military campaign. This was never made public. There were very few incidents of Albanian civilians being attacked by Serbian forces (see OSCE reports of monitoring groups). Total Albanian civilians killed before the war started in March 1999, was at most, 47. So the rai·son d'être for NATO to go to war was false.

Today we know we were being told more lies by the Obama Administration and European Union (“EU”).  On February 18, protesters attack police lines and set fires outside parliament. Riot police respond to the violence by trying to push protesters off Independence Square. At least 26 people died and hundreds were injured. On February 20, hours after a truce is announced, violence resumes, with snipers shooting protesters from the rooftops. All the western media and government officials reported that the snipers were under orders from the Ukrainian Government of President Viktor Yanukovych.
Not so fast. First reported on ZeroHedge.com, March 5, 2014, a new recording of a telephone conversation between EU foreign affairs head Catherine Ashton and Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet, revealed this socking and disturbing news: In the conversation, Mr. Paet states that:
“the killing were from both sides, policemen and people from the street… So there is now stronger and stronger understanding that behind the snipers, it was not Yanukovych, but it was somebody from the new coalition.”
The upshot is: first the United States orchestrates and foments the overthrow of the legally elected Yanukovych government, because the West did not like his decision on the EU; and now we learn the leaders of the newly installed Coalition Government, were the ones who ordered the killings in the Maidan Square in Kiev, the capital city of the Ukraine.
A Coalition Government that came to power with US and EU support, which murdered its own people to fabricate the pretext under which it took power. Does this despicable act remind you of anything? That’s right, Kosovo.
The Coalition was running the KLA playbook, and the US and EU was laying down cover. But this time their hand is weak. NATO is a shell of its former self, and Russia is not Serbia. As a result, the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine are now for all intents and purposes part of Russia.
And finally, Mr. Obama now tells us that what Russia is doing violates international law. He lectures:
“There is a strong belief that Russia’s action is violating international law. I know President Putin seems to have a different set of lawyers making a different set of interpretations, but I don’t think that’s fooling anybody.”
Well Mr. Obama, Mr. Putin must have hired the same lawyers Bill Clinton and Tony Blair had to justify NATO’s war in Serbia (Kosovo). Then the Russian’s argued that the Kosovo War and recognition of Kosovo’s independence was a violation of international law, a UN Resolution, the UN Charter, and the principle of national sovereignty forged out of the horror of World War II. So Mr. Obama, the only one fooling anybody is you, your Administration, and the Brussels bureaucrats. Kosovo was folly, and until you correct that mistake, it is disingenuous to tell others they are acting badly.
Mr. Obama and company has another foreign policy failure on their hands. A word to the people of the Ukraine -- do you really think a man like Mr. Obama, who would not save his own Ambassador in Benghazi, Libya against a band of terrorists, would come to your rescue?
Still, there is always plan X.

War In The Crimea: The Reason Why

The headlines say: ‘Russians Invade the Ukraine.’ What it doesn’t tell you is the reason why.

KOSOVO, KOSOVO, KOSOVO

Recognition of the Albanian Kosovars' Independence proclamation by the US, UK, France, and Germany, was catastrophic foreign policy (17 February 2008). It was the worst foreign policy decision since Munich.

Martin Gilbert and Richard Gott wrote this in their book, The Appeasers, "They sought to ignore the lessons of the past ... and were prepared to sacrifice common sense for the sake of their desire." This desire by Western capitals to recognize and validate
'crimes against humanity' that never took place has and will engender grave consequences around the world.

U.N. Resolution 1244 negotiated to end the war, guaranteed Serbian interests and sovereignty in Kosovo. Yet, in February 2008, Western powers, including George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Gordon Brown, David Miliband, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy, and the Clintons (unofficially), supported the Albanian Kosovars' declaration of Independence from Serbia -- a clear violation of international law, a UN Resolution, and the principle of national sovereignty forged out of the horror of World War II.

Kosovo is the gift to Vladimir Putin that keeps on giving.

First Georgia (2008), and now the Crimea and the Ukraine (2014).

Current US foreign policy in a nutshell:

  1. Barack Obama tells Vladimir Putin "there will be costs" if Russia invades Ukraine. What does Mr. Putin do with full support of the Russian parliament? He invades the Ukraine.
  2. Barack Obama tells Assad in Syria not to cross that line. Chemical weapons are used in Syria (by someone), and what does Mr. Obama do? He makes more feckless speeches.
  3. Barack Obama tells Iran to stop enriching uranium grade material. What does Iran do -- continues enriching. Mr. Obama then lifts sanctions (that were working) on Iran.
  4. In Venezuela, there are riots in the streets, people stand in line for hours for a loaf of bread, and the authoritarian socialist government of the want-to-be dictator Nicolas Maduro, murders them in the streets. And Barack Obama does and says nothing.
  5. Muslims through out the Middle East, Africa, and Asia murder Christians, just because they are Christians. What say you Mr. Obama? The man says nothing. In fact, the man supports the Muslim Brotherhood, who is responsible for many atrocities.

Please don’t misunderstand. Barack Obama did show the world where he stands. He put forward a plan to reduce the U.S. Military to its lowest level since before WWII. He announced he would remove all U.S. combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year. Next, given his penchant for perpetual foreign policy failures, he’ll send John Kerry back to the Middle East to beat up on our allies in Israel and Egypt.

It’s always wonderful, to throw back in someone’s face the words they used to insult you. So Barack Hussein Obama, remember what Malcolm X and your pastor Rev. Wright said: “ the chickens have come home to roost.”

Now it’s Vladimir Putin’s turn to crow: Kosovo has come home to roost, yet again, and not for the last time.

When Doves Cry: This Is The Nature Of Our World

This is the nature of our World.

The strong devour the weak.
It has always been that way.

Goodness is not proclaimed it is achieved.
Anything worthwhile is achieved and not given.

This Pope is a naïve man.
People like him, with their "good intentions," do more harm to humanity than good.

What’s that you say – love and understanding is all we need.
What’s that you say – give peace a chance.

Tell me then – who protected the 1.5 million Armenians from the Turks?
Tell me then – who protected the 11 million killed by Hitler's Germany?
Tell me then – who protected the 3 million Russians in Stalin's gulags?
Tell me then – who protected the 27 million from Mao’s China?
Tell me then – who protected the 1.8 million from Pol Pot’s Cambodia?
Tell me then – who protected the 750,000 Tutsis of Rwanda?
Tell me then – who will protect the 8 million Israelis from Islam?
Tell me then – who is protecting you today from the Crescent horde?

The answer is not blowin' in the wind.
The answer is you.

What happens when you surrender to the good intentions of others?

You die
You die
You die
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Gone Away: A Lamentation

Dedicated in memoriam to Mr. Dino
My best friend

There was a time the Eagle flew.

There was a time man had hope.

There was a time of optimism and possibilities.

There was a time the world understood:

Right from Wrong
Good from Evil
Freedom from Thralldom
Deference for all Religions

And, there was a time in our Founder’s wisdom that all men were created equal. All equal under the law.

Today is not that time.

Today we are govern by men and women who lie.

They lie about everything:

Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi
The killing of Osama bin Laden
Support for Islamic Terrorism
Alleged that Ft. Hood was workplace violence
Covertly selling guns to Mexican Drug Cartels
Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi
Withholding evidence and lying to Congress
IRS selective prejudice against American Conservatives
NSA surveillance in violation of the Constitution
Obama Care
Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi

Greatness is not proclaimed it is achieved.

Camille laments that men are not men. Indoctrination of political correctness in our educational systems by progressives has attempted to neuter western man.

What’s that you say – love and understanding is all we need.

Tell me then – who will protect you from the Crescent horde?

Accountability and responsibility are dead.
Farce and incompetence are rewarded.
Obscenity is applauded.
Excuses, straw men, and Aunt Sally are the preferred methods of discourse of today’s progressive political class.

How much longer do you think this rotten house of cards will stand?

Has it gone too far?
Has it gone away?

Inveterate Interventionism Is Bad Foreign Policy

It must be difficult to do an analysis of a policy issue when your ideology ties both hands behind your back, to say nothing of your brain.

Bret Stephens’s, “Iraq Tips Towards the Abyss,” in The Wall Street Journal, October 22, 2013, Opinion, is one such case. Mr. Stephens meticulously records the carnage in Iraq for the past two months, and clearly notes the absence of the international community’s concern. But then, he substitutes ideology, i.e. inveterate interventionism, for reason.

One of the great failing of the Bush Administration, and specifically its National Security Advisor and later Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and later still the Obama Administration and its Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, was that they did not recognize the divisions within Iraq. And, therefore, did not have an intelligent plan of what to do in Iraq after Saddam Hussein was removed.

The inability to fashion a sensible accord between Iraq’s three sectarian groups, resulted in immediate and ongoing violence. The more sensible strategy for Iraq would have been to partition the country into three entities: Kurdish (Mosul); Sunni (Baghdad); and Shi’a (Basra).

First, there is no compelling historic justification for modern day Iraq. The 1919 Paris Peace Conference and subsequent San Remo Conference in April 1920 laid the groundwork for an Iraqi nation. Prior to 1919, modern day Iraq did not exist. There was no Iraqi nationalism and no Iraqi identity. There was what the British called “Mesopotamia” - referring to the Ottoman Empire’s provinces of Mosul, Baghdad and Basra.

Second, it is understood that the reconfiguration of Iraq will cause consternation to some. However, the entire Middle East has skin in the game, and none more so than Turkey and Iran. A Kurdistan nation will not be the death of Turkey. It will however be a stable force in an unstable region. An accommodation to the Kurds would work toward balancing and even mitigating Iran’s position in Iraq, especially under Nouri al–Maliki, the Shi’a Prime Minister

Third, Mr. Stephens’s view that Mr. al-Maliki is a stabilizing force in Iraq is just wrong. Recall Mr. al Maliki’s first acts when American forces left Iraq. He attempted to arrest the Sunni leadership for trumped up capital charges. Mr. al-Maliki is an Iranian Shi’a puppet. Reducing Shi’a dominance to southern Iraq will correspondingly reduce Iran’s influence in the region.

Fourth, al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) is not the dominating force portrayed in Mr. Stephen’s piece. Iraq’s Sunni and former Baathists are more than happy to let al Qaeda suicide bombers blow up Shi’a and themselves. When sectarian violence turns to civil war, it will be Sunni Baathists that exert control and govern in central Iraq, not al Qaeda.

Iraq is an artificial State. To believe that Kurds, Sunni, and Shi’a can live peacefully together contradicts realty. Just as Bosnia became a failed state when Muslims, Serbs, and Croatians were provided with the means to choose the conditions under which they wished to live, which you will recall resulted in War (1992 – 1995).

A solution to Iraqi violence is to construct a new compact. That new compact will be the partition of Iraq into three distinct States.

The failure in Iraq was not military defeat, but diplomatic malpractice.

It's Simple Logic: Obama Supports Terrorism

The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamic terrorist organization.

Barack Hussein Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood.

Therefore, Barack Hussein Obama supports Islamic terrorism.
